The five-day moving average number  of new cases of Covid-19 has risen by 13 per cent in the past week.

It now stands at 424 - compared to 376 seven days ago.

371 new cases and 13 additional deaths were reported yesterday - 3 of the deaths occurred this month.

 Of the new cases, there were 10 in Galway, none in Mayo, Sligo or Leitrim and less than 5 in Roscommon.

The 14-day incidence rate is now 121 per 100,000, and Leitrim remains the only Connacht county with a rate higher  than the national average at 134.

Mayo's 14 day rate is now 69 per 100,000 people.

There were 151 Covid patients in public hospitals last night, with 45 of these patients  in intensive care.
