Only two countries in the EU have had fewer Covid-19 cases per capita than Ireland over the past two weeks.
Only Portugal and Finland had lower incidence rates, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
163 Covid patients are in public hospitals - the lowest in over six months - with 48 in intensive care.
Across the region there are nine patients with the virus at University Hospital Galway, five at Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe, two at University Hospital Sligo and one at Mayo University Hospital.
Of those, four patients are in ICU in Galway with one at the Portiuncula, while the ICUs in Mayo and Sligo remain free of the virus.
