A Status Yellow wind warning has been extended to include Mayo, Galway, Sligo and Donegal.
Met Eireann say south-westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h and gusts of 90 to 110km/h, with possibly higher speeds in exposed coastal fringes.
Where winds are onshore there is a risk of coastal flooding around high tide.
The warning comes into effect at nine o’clock tonight and will run until eight o’clock tomorrow morning.
