A Sligo man appeared before court yesterday evening, charged in connection with an €8.2m drugs find in Co. Kildare this week.
49-year-old Eugene Mulligan with an address at Carrigans Upper, Ballymore, County Sligo, faces an allegation of possessing cannabis for the purpose of sale or supply on the 11th of February.
60kgs of cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.2m was found in the vehicle he was driving.
46-year-old Eric Lawlor, with an address at Baybush House, Baybush, Maynooth, is charged with 5 counts including the possession of cannabis and cocaine with the intent to sell and a breach of the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act.
The combined total of drugs found during searches was an estimated €8.2m.
Both men were refused bail and were remanded in custody to appear before Naas District Court on the 17th of February by video link.
