Details

12 Covid related deaths in east and south Mayo were reported over the weekend to the Coroner for Mayo, Patrick O’Connor.

Mr. O’Connor confirmed to Midwest News today that the deaths notified to him predominantly occurred in nursing homes in the south and east of the county and does not include deaths in North Mayo.

He has described the number of nursing home deaths reported to him over the weekend in nursing homes as significant, and extended his sympathy to the families affected.

He is repeating his call for the public to keep their distance from each other and observe all public health guidelines
