There are no vaccination doses available to the National Ambulance Service crews across the region at present.
That’s according to SIPTU’s Health Division Organiser Ciaran Sheridan.
This means that the National Ambulance service crews across Mayo, Galway and Roscommon are dependent on excess inoculations from the Saolta Hospital Group.
The SIPTU Organiser says the sequencing for administering vaccine doses states that ambulance staff should be prioritised for the jab after frontline staff in congregated settings.
He expressed concern about the incident which occurred earlier this month in the Coombe Hopsital in Dublin, when family members of staff received the vaccine.
Ciaran Sheridan told Midwest News that SIPTU has sought information from local ambulance management on the progress of inoculations among paramedic staff.
