2,023 people with Covid-19 are being treated in Irish hospitals - the first time the figure has risen over 2,000 since the start of the pandemic.
Latest HSE figures show that there are 131 covid-19 patients at GUH- up two, 98 at MUH- up 18, 39 at SH- down 4 and 12 at the Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe- up three.
There are 10 patients with the virus on critical care beds in Galway, 2 each in Sligo and the Portiuncula and one in MUH.
HSE CEO Paul Reid has tweeted to say there are over 400 people across the hospital system getting ventilation or respiratory support.
