Power has been restored this evening to some 719 premises in the Belmullet area that experienced a loss of supply this afternoon.

The outage occurred just before 2 o’clock due to a fault in the system, according to the ESB powercheck app.

ESB crews worked to repair the fault throughout the afternoon and restored supply to affected customers at around 4 o'clock.

The company apologized to affected customers for the loss of supply.
