Gardaí have seized €18,500 worth of suspected cannabis plants and cannabis herb following the discovery of a cannabis grow house at a property in Westport yesterday.
The detection was made at approximately 12.30pm when Gardaí attached to the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a property in Westport town.
During the course of the search Gardaí located and seized a number of suspected cannabis plants valued at €12,800 which were growing in the premises.
In addition Gardaí seized approximately €5,700 worth of cannabis herb (pending analysis), as well as lights and fans associated with the cultivation process.
No arrests have been made to date.
Investigations are ongoing.
