Two separate weather warnings for snow and low temperatures have been issued for the entire country.
From 8 o'clock tonight a low temperature/ice warning will come in to effect for all 26 counties, with temperatures set to dip to lows of minus four.
A status yellow snow and ice alert will also kick in at 11pm tonight, and Met Eireann says this could lead to treacherous conditions.
Both of the warnings remain in place until tomorrow morning.
Day time temperatures will not rise much above zero in parts of the west today.
But this evening, tonight and into tomorrow morning, Met Eireann says we may get a dusting of snow across the west, as rain is likely to fall as sleet and snow from sunset this evening into tomorrow.
