The period between the two required doses of the Covid-19 vaccine could be extended, in order to accelerate the rollout.
The chair of the vaccine taskforce says they're exploring the issue following a formal request from the Chief Medical Officer.
Speaking to the Irish Times, Professor Brian MacCraith says the move would potentially double the number of people getting the first dose.
It would see the gap between doses extended to 28 days, compared to the current recommendation of 21 days.
