25,000 euro in additional grant funding has been allocated to the Mayo Sports Partnership.
It’s part of the government’s national allocation of a further 5.1 million euro for sports organizations in the COVID-19 Supplementary Grant Scheme.
Fine Gael Spokesperson for Sport, Mayo deputy Alan Dillon TD says that “throughout this difficult year, sporting organizations have demonstrated their resilience and invaluable importance to local communities. Governing Bodies and Local Sports Partnerships have continued to keep their clubs and communities as active as possible and since the beginning of the pandemic, we have seen record numbers taking up exercise for their physical and mental wellbeing.
The funding announced today will allow organizations such as the Mayo Sports Partnership to continue their work and face into 2021 in good financial health and in a position to return to meaningful operations”.
