There are no respite beds at Ballina District Hospital and the Palliative Care units at the facility are available throughout the pandemic if required, according to Breda Crehan-Roche, Chief Officer, Community Healthcare West.
Ms Crehan-Roche was responding to a written question submitted by Ballina councillor John O’Hara to a recent HSE West Forum meeting.
The councillor had asked why the Respite Care and Palliative Care units at the hospital are empty.
