The Chief Medical Officer says he's concerned progress on reducing Covid-19 infections is faltering.

Today the officials reported 456 new positive tests, 11 more people brought to hospital, and six more deaths.

It means the five-day moving average daily case load has actually increased from 354 to 392.

Dr Tony Holohan says it's higher than expected based on trends in recent weeks -- and he's "concerned that this progrees is at risk".

151 of the cases are in Dublin, 38 in Limerick, 27 in Cork, 27 in Donegal, 27 in Galway and the remaining 186 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

There are eleven new cases in Mayo, four in Roscommon, three in Sligo and less than five in Leitrim.
