Today is the deadline for people with disabilities to make submissions to the new Oireachtas Joint Committee on Disability Matters.
Individuals and groups are invited to send in submissions about the issues affecting them and their families or carers, to assist the committee in what they need to focus on in their future work.
Galway East TD Sean Canney, who's a member of the Oireachtas committee, says it's important to involve people with disabilities in a more meaningful way in developing policy and legislation.
