Mayo County Council will submit four detailed applications to Transport Infrastructure Ireland for projects along the N84.
That's according to Ballinrobe-based Councillor Damien Ryan, who says 'technical backup, detailed drawings and criteria surrounding' previous applications 'may have been lacking'.
The Fianna Fail Councillor Chairs the County’s Roads & Transportation SPC and says the regional manager of TII Kieran Kelly says he would look favourably on detailed submissions.
The projects cited include a footbridge in Ballinrobe, improved access to the GAA grounds in Kilmaine, traffic calming in Kilmaine and road realignment works at Shrule.
Cllr Ryan says he is hopeful that the majority of these projects will be included in TII's balance of funds for Mayo in 2021.
