Met Eireann is warning of very unsettled weather over the Hallowe'en weekend.

The forecaster has issued a weather advisory, as a series of vigorous Atlantic weather systems pass close to Ireland over the weekend.

Spells of heavy rain will lead to surface and river flooding.

It will be very windy or stormy at times, with some severe and damaging gusts possible.

Met Eireann is also warning that some coastal flooding is possible also, due to the combination of low pressure, high tides and onshore winds, with very high seas.

The weather advisory applies to all of Connacht and Munster, as well as Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.
