A South West Mayo farm has won a national accolade at the Women and Agriculture awards this week.
Catherine O'Grady Powers of Glen Keen Farm and Visitor Centre took home top honours in the Innovation on Farm category.
The sheep farm at the foot of the Doolough Valley offers a varied tourist experience to international visitors with majestic views, cultural and historical walks and sheep dog herding, in what Catherine has described as a 'living museum'.
She will receive a cash prize of €2,500 from award sponsors FBD Insurance, a commemorative plaque and a front cover feature in Irish Country Living after winning the innovation prize.
Catherine O'Grady Powers has been telling Midwest News that they will now be providing an ecommerce site so that people can buy cultural gifts from Glen Keen this festive season.
