There are businesses today (Tues) unsure whether they are deemed “essential services” under the latest Level 5 Covid Restrictions.

The Castlebook store on Castle Street in Castlebar is one such business.

David Brennan says that in addition to his general book store services, he also stocks school books and supplies and while schools remain open suppliers may also be deemed as "essential".

He told Midwest News today that it is unclear from the information provided so far today by government, and he is now seeking clarification.

He says if he has to close his door, he will continue trading online, but admits it is difficult to run a family business in these circumstances.
