An online petition has been set up in a bid to avoid the closure of the Coral Leisure facilities in Tuam and Ballinasloe.
Hundreds of signatures have been secured.
A critical meeting on the future of both facilities is due to take place tomorrow (Tues).
Footfall to the centres has more than halved since the start of the pandemic, falling from 11,000 to less than 5,000 per month.
More than 50 staff are employed between both facilities.
The contract between Galway County Council and Coral Leisure is due to expire at the end of the year.
