The young man who died in a road collision between Ballyhaunis and Ballinlough on Thursday night will be laid to rest today.

Jason Killeen from Cullatinny, Knock died in the single vehicle crash which occurred shortly before 11pm on Thursday night close to the Roscommon border.

It's believed the 19-year old was a passenger in the car - he was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 21-year old driver was taken to Mayo University Hospital.

Jason is survived by his parents Patrick and Lorraine Killeen, sister Chloe, and extended family.

His funeral Mass takes place at 10 o'clock this morning in the Basilica of Our Lady Queen of Ireland, Knock will burial afterwards in Knock New Cemetery.

The funeral is restricted to family and close friends.
