Irish Water has agreed to carry out works next year that will improve water quality in the Currower area of Attymass, Ballina.
That's according to local Councillor John O'Hara who has expressed concerns over the water quality being supplied to about 70 households in the area.
Councillor O'Hara told Midwest News several weeks ago that the water in the Currower area is discoloured, and has led to problems with washing machines and showers, while he claimed it was a health & safety issue.
An old section of water mains was due to be replaced this year, but funding was not available for the work.
However, Councillor O'Hara says he's now being informed that the work will be carried out next year...
