200,000 additional adult flu vaccines have been ordered by the HSE for this winter, but it’s not enough in a pandemic, according to Roscommon/Galway Independent deputy Denis Naughten.

The Minister for Health disclosed to the Dáil last week that the HSE plans to purchase 200,000 additional adult flu vaccines for the forthcoming flu season.

Deputy Naughten claims its well short of what is needed to protect the population this winter, as flu symptoms are likely to  be confused with the Covid-19 symptoms, which has the potential to  cause absolute chaos within our hospitals this winter.
