The Chairman of Tooreen Hurling Club says there’s a ‘dark cloud’ over the local community following the tragic death of David Lenehan in a motorcycle crash on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at 7.15am when his motorcycle crashed at Frankfort Roundabout, near Camolin.

The 32-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family has a strong association with the hurling club in Tooreen as David’s brother Stephen plays in goals for the senior team.

Midwest News understands that Mr Lenehan was on his way home to Tooreen when the accident occurred.

Any drivers in the area at the time, particularly those with dashcam footage are being asked to contact Gardaí in Gorey.

Dom Greally is the Chairman of the hurling club in Tooreen and he says that David will be remembered for his wonderful smile.
