Investigations are continuing into a light aircraft crash in Co. Galway that left two people seriously injured.
A man and woman in their 60s were seriously injured when their light aircraft crash landed in Kiltullagh yesterday afternoon.
The alarm was raised shortly before 1pm when reports were received that a light aircraft had crashed in a field at Knockatogher.
It's understood the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing after the Cassena plane had experienced engine trouble.
The occupants of the plane were taken from the scene to University Hospital Galway where they are continuing to receive treatment.
The scene was attended by Gardaí, Emergency Services and the Air Accident Investigation Unit.
Fianna Fail Councillor Albert Dolan says investigators need time to establish what exactly happened.
