Two anglers were rescued from Lough Corrib by a group of jet skiers after their vessel overturned on Sunday afternoon.
The two men got into difficulty after their boat struck rocks and overturned near Annaghkeen Point at around three o’clock.
The boat’s captain was dragged under as it overturned, while his friend was flung off the boat in the impact.
Jet skiers with two vehicles came across the scene by chance almost instantaneously and came to men’s recue.
The anglers returned home and an ambulance crew came to assess them for any possible injuries.
The two are from a local angling club and their boat was also brought back to Kilbeg Pier later that evening.
John was the man captaining the vessel and he told Midwest News about the terrifying ordeal.
