Sligo-Leitrim TD Frank Feighan has been appointed as a Junior Minister at the Department of Health (Public Health, Well Being and National Drugs Strategy).
17 Junior Ministers will start their first day in their new jobs at Government Departments today.
The Fine Gael Deputy says while it’s a great honour, he is aware that it will be a big challenge but is really looking forward to getting started in his new portfolio.
Many of the appointments were aimed at addressing the regional imbalance in the senior Ministries.
Deputy Feighan says despite the lack of representation from the west at Cabinet he will strive to deliver in his role for the region.
