Galway County Councillor, Aisling Dolan, has been appointed as a Senator under the newly formed government with Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Green Party.


She is one of the eleven Taoiseach nominations for the Upper House of the Oireachtas, nine of which are female.


The Ballinasloe-area councillor secured more than five thousand three hundred first preference votes in the 2020 General Election in Roscommon Galway.


Councillor Dolan was elected to Galway County Council for the Ballinasloe Municipal District in May 2019 as an Independent candidate on her first venture into politics.


The Project Manager with NUI Galway works with start-ups in the healthcare and med-tech sector and will now represent Fine Gael in the Roscommon – Galway constituency in the Seanad.
