Despite the Covid 19 pandemic a number of planned Failte Ireland backed projects are going ahead.
This was confirmed to the Crossmolina based Fianna Fail councillor Michael Loftus at this week’s Mayo County Council’s Special Policy Committee on Tourism and Food.
The “buggies” that will travel along the velo rail project planned for Kiltimagh are expected to be delivered shortly and the project is still on track to be completed by 2021.
While progress is continuing on the walkway planned from the Ceide fields in Ballycastle.
Councillor Loftus told Midwest News that he was concerned that tourism projects that were at an advanced stage in the county prior to the pandemic may be impacted as a result, but he said thankfully they are going ahead as planned.
