Large quanties of drugs and cash were seized by gardai in Ballina and Foxford over the weekend.
On Friday night, the Divisional Drugs Task Force assisted by local gardai in Ballina searched two men in their early 20s in the town centre who were acting suspiciously.
Gardaí found approximately €900 of cocaine and €200 in cash on one of the men.
A further search of his home in the town under warrant later on Friday night recovered more cocaine to the value of €700.
On the second male, cocaine with a value of over €2,000 and cannabis with a value of more than €400 was recovered.
Both men were arrested and taken to Ballina Garda Station and a file will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
On Saturday night, the Divisional Drugs Task Force and local uniformed Gardaí carried out a search under warrant at a residence in the town of Foxford at 10pm. They recovered cannabis to the value of €2,000, cocaine to the value of €700 and over €8,000 in cash.
A man in his late 20s was arrested at the scene and interviewed and a file will be submitted to the DPP.
Then yesterday (Sunday) evening a pedestrian alerted gardai to something hidden in a ditch in the Foxford area. Gardai investigated and discovered an estimated 5,000 euro worth of cannabis and investigations are continuing.
