Irish Water and Roscommon County Council can confirm that night time restrictions implemented in Castlerea on June 2nd are now lifted with immediate effect.
Earlier this week Irish Water had to implement night time restrictions in Castlerea as the raw water source supplying the treatment plant was very low.
This was causing treatment difficulties at the plant.
Night time restrictions were implemented but Irish Water are happy to confirm that due to the help of the local community in reducing consumption and conserving water, reservoir levels have now recovered to an acceptable standard.
Coupled with the decreasing temperatures and reduced demand night time restrictions are lifted with immediate effect.
