An Erris-based TD says the public will not forgive a ‘cover up’ regarding how Mayo University Hospital managed the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mayo TD Rose Conway-Walsh made the remarks after the Health Minister failed to directly answer six questions she submitted in May.
The questions included clarification on when crossover of staff ended, when covid and non-covid wards were segregated and whether patients discharged to nursing homes were first tested for the virus, among other practices.
The Sinn Fein TD was dissatisfied by the Minister Harris’ response on Wednesday as he failed to directly answer her six questions.
Deputy Conway-Walsh says that people will forgive mistakes being made and delays, but that they will not forgive a cover-up.
Midwest News has today sought to speak with the Saolta Hospital Group regarding Deputy Conway-Walsh’s questions and we are awaiting a response.
