Land prices in Mayo are now the lowest in the country.
That's according to the Irish Farmers Journal Annual Land Price Report, which shows the average price for land in Mayo in 2019 was €4,809 per acre - down 14% on the previous year.
The average price of agricultural land in Ireland last year was €8,971 per acre.
The report shows there were just four sales with a transaction value of over €300,000 recorded in Mayo last year, while there was also a drop of about 30 farms offered to the market.
Nationally, the report shows that land prices held steady, despite the challenges of Brexit and the beef protests.
