Mayo county councillors have called on Comreg and the Department of Communications to hold off on granting a licence for 5G technology in this country, until there is sufficient evidence internationally that 5G is not harmful to people’s health.
The Cathaoirleach of Castlebar Municipal District, Independent cllr Michael Kilcoyne proposed a motion calling for the Irish government to suspend the role out of 5G, at the February meeting of Mayo County Council and the motion was carried.
Cathaoirleach Kilcoyne told Midwest News today about his and his colleagues reservations about the development of 5G technology.
