Urgently increasing capacity in hospitals is the only way to bring down waiting list, according to consultants.

 

Over 776,000 people were waiting for a public appointment last month - an increase of almost 50,000 since this time last year.

 

100 million euro a year is being spent on the National Treatment Purchase Fund every year to reduce waiting times by giving people the option for private healthcare.
