Former President, Ballina native, Mary Robinson will address members of the public sector today at Dublin City University about how they are meeting their climate targets.
Under the Climate Action Plan, the public sector is expected to achieve a 50 per cent energy efficiency improvement by 2030.
It's also targeted to have a 30 per cent CO2 reduction by then and all public buildings are to be B rated.
This is the fourth National Public Sector Energy Conference hosted by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
Fergus Sharkey, Head of Public and Private Sector Business at the SEAI, says the public sector is already on track to meet current targets.
