Aontú leader, Deputy Peadar Tóibín has challenged Micheál Martin to list the names of Fianna Fáil TDs who have organised buses to Belfast for cataract procedures. The Deputy was speaking in response to comments by Micheál Martin on last night's Virgin Media leaders debate.
Aontú candidate in Mayo, Paul Lawless has been active on the ground recently in this region organising the transport to get people to the hospital in Belfast.
Deputy Tobin says he is not aware of any Fianna Fáil TD who organised a bus to Belfast and he challenged Deputy Martin to publish the names of the TDs who have organised buses.
Speaking to Midwest News today Paul Lawless described Michael Martin’s reference last night “as hugely disappointing”.
