A Castlebar butcher shop has just taken another national award, adding to its seven regional awards.

Pat Carolan and his staff at Carolan’s Butcher shop, located at Davitt Terrace, Castlebar secured their most recent accolade for Carolan’s traditional square black pudding.

Pat and his team have a number of national gold awards for their pork sausage with mustard, chopped smoke bacon and onion sausage and their high protein turkey sausage with broccoli, onion and tomato.

The pudding recipe was devised by staff member Marie O’Donnell, from Islandeady, Castlebar and sold out completely over Christmas and the New Year.
