Portwest , in partnership with Connacht Rugby, has launched a new road safety for all campaign, Be Bright on Safety, which also aims to set a new World Record.
Portwest, headquartered in Westport designs and manufactures protective and safety clothing
The World Record the partnership plans to break is for the most people wearing high visibility vests, which will also highlight the importance and responsibility of all road users when it comes to safety this winter.
The World Record attempt will take place at The Sportground in Galway, where Connacht Rugby take on Munster on Saturday 21st December in the Guinness Pro14 Championship.
Anne McNicholas, Sales and Marketing Manager at Portwest told Midwest News today that the Christmas interprovincial game between Connacht and Munster is always highly anticipated and a guaranteed sell-out at The Sportsground, and they aim to double the current world record and hopefully have 5,000 people all in hi-vis vests on the night.
