A female pedestrian was taken to hospital this afternoon following a collision on Doctors Road, Ballyhaunis.
It appears the woman was walking from the Annagh Medical Centre towards Main Street, when she was struck by a van shortly after midday.
The pedestrian was treated at the scene by local doctors, and the emergency services attended the scene, including the air ambulance.
The elderly woman was taken by ground ambulance to Mayo University Hospital with what are described as "significant but not life threatening" injuries.
The collision occurred close the junction of Main St and Doctors Road.
