Claremorris Gardai are investigating a further two break-ins to properties in the Ballindine area last night.

Cash and jewellery were stolen in the raids.

This follows on from a spate of burglaries in recent days in the Claremorris, Charlestown and Knock areas.

Gardai say the common theme is intruders are gaining entry by forcing windows or patio doors open.

The majority of the raids are taking place in eth afternoon and early evening and Gardai are advising the public to ensure their alarm systems are activated as well as neighbours linking in with each other.

They are also appealing to people to ensure the safe management of cash and lock precious jewellery away in a safe.

Gardai say early information in these cases is important and are asking people to contact their local Gardai if they see any suspicious cars or persons.

Gardai followed a high powered car yesterday evening after acting on information received but were unable to catch the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Claremorris Gardai on 094 93 72080.
