No organisation should have any gaps when it comes to safeguarding our children.
That's the message from Galway based Fianna Fail TD Anne Rabbitte, who has called for a statutory inquiry into historical abuse allegations toward Scouting organisations.
It follows the airing of an RTÉ Investigates programme last night that revealed a former scout leader was only removed from scouting last year despite concerns being reported in the 1980s.
Deputy Rabbitte says Scouting Ireland is not equipped to carry out a review of the complaints.
