As thousands of teenagers throughout the country get set to celebrate their Junior Cert results later today, Gardaí are urging students and their parents to be mindful about the dangers of drinking and taking drugs.
1700 students in county Mayo will get their results today, like 64,000 nationally getting results weeks later than usual , due to the prioritization of Leaving Cert appeals.
The results are available in schools, and can also be accessed online from 4pm this afternoon.
The garda press office says many teens will be in high spirits as they head out to celebrate with their friends this evening and it is our hope that each and every one of them has a safe and enjoyable night.
Additional Gardaí will be patrolling from early this evening. They will be operating in a uniform and also plain clothes capacity and say that they will be adopting “a zero tolerance approach to anyone found behaving in an anti-social manner”.
