The removal takes place this evening of the man who was shot and died outside a house at Coogue, Aghamore, Ballyhaunis on Tuesday night last.

67 year old Brendan Kilduff of Sallyhernane, Knock appears to have been visiting a friend when he was mistaken by the householder as an intruder.

He is survived by his sisters Marian and Bernadette, nieces, nephews​, brothers in law, neighbours and many friends.

His remains will be reposing at the Marian Funeral Home Knock this evening (Friday) from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock.

He will be laid to rest after 12 noon Mass at the Church of St. John the Baptist, Knock tomorrow in the local cemetery.

A man in his 80s, who was arrested after the fatal shooting, was released without charge on Wednesday night, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions
