Gardai seized an estimated €1100 worth of drugs at four addresses in Claremorris town in search operations yesterday evening.
These intelligence led searches resulted in the recovery of quantities of drugs believed to be cocaine, speed, and cannabis at two of the addresses searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Gardaí also seized drugs related paraphernalia including scales and deal bags and a small amount of cash.
Gardai have appealled to anyone with information on those dealing drugs in Claremorris , Ballinrobe , Ballyhaunis, Kiltimagh or Swinford areas to pass this information to their local Gardaí or call Claremorris Garda Station on 0949372080, the Mayo Drugs Squad, or The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111”.
Superintendent Gabriel Moran said that Gardaí will continue to use powers under the Drugs Act to search individuals and where intelligence supports this we will execute further search warrants.
He highlighted that Mayo Roads Policing Unit have vehicles equipped with on the spot drug driving testing machines where the suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs exists.
