The Beef Plan Movement and Meat Industry Ireland are preparing to meet today, to try and break the deadlock in their dispute.
Farmers have been protesting at processing plants over the low prices for their animals, but the action's been suspended for the talks.
Representatives from farming organisations and the Department of Agriculture will also attend the meeting in Kildare.
