Gardai and the Health & Safety Authority are investigating the sudden death of a man in his 50's on a farm in Co Roscommon.
The farmer's body was discovered yesterday and reported to Gardai, but it's not clear when he died.
Gardai attended the scene at a farm in the Killeglan area of Taughmaconnell in south Roscommon yesterday evening, and the man's body was removed to University Hospital Galway for a post-mortem examination.
It's now believed he died as a result of a farm accident.
Local sources indicated that he was patching bales in the yard when he slipped between the silage bales and was unable to free himself.
This is the second farm fatality in Co Roscommon in the past month.
