Fine Gael General Election candidate for Mayo, Alan Dillon, has highlighted the closing date of the HSE’s National Lottery funding round.  This year, the closing date is 12 noon on Tuesday next, 30th April.These grants are aimed at community groups and voluntary organisations who provide health and personal social services.  Suitable projects for potential funding under these grants involve:

Once-off projects that can be completed within the year of application (excluding respite);

No major on-going revenue implications including the employment of staff, capital funding and running costs;

Regrettably, no projects which are already covered by HSE funding; and

No projects which have HSE service level agreements or grant aid agreements.

Mr. Dillon said: “The availability of National Lottery grants can often go unnoticed by many worthwhile community groups and voluntary organisations providing services in local communities around Mayo. Typical recipients of previous funding rounds included a number of Meals on Wheels services and Men’s Sheds, as well as local development companies.”

Funding of up to €10,000 can be secured by voluntary organisations under this funding scheme.
