The plans for the new 8 bed hospice building, to be located beside Roscommon University Hospital will be outlined this afternoon at a launch located at the new site, known locally as Hannon’s field.
The new hospice is scheduled to be completed and open to patients and their families by early 2021.
The project is the second hospice development by the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation that sees a new hospice building under construction in Castlebar and planning permission now to be submitted to build the new Roscommon based facility.
The estimated combined cost of the developments is 15 million euro and the buildings are being funded by the generosity of the general public to the fund raising efforts of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.
