Westport will play host to a major international conference between Sunday and Wednesday of this week.

Hosted by the British Society of Animal Science – Bull Fertility, Theory into practice, will bring experts from across the world back to Westport again to discuss the challenges and innovations in cattle breeding and managing bulls to maximize fertility.

The event has been organised by scientists in Teagasc, University College Dublin and University of Limerick and is back in Westport for the second time in four years.

Teagasc’s Michael Diskin is Chairman of the Group organising the event and told Midwest News that it is a major boost to Westport and the surrounding areas.
